Fresh produce aids mental wellbeing

It is well known that eating lots of fruit and vegetables is good for your physical health – we have all heard the saying ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’! However the latest research suggests that it is also beneficial for your mental health.

The University of Leeds ran a study across 40,00 UK participants and showed that the consumption of fruit and vegetables is linked to increases in self-reported mental wellbeing and life satisfaction across a 5-year period. Neel Ocean and Peter Howley, the experts being the study suggest that adding one portion to your diet per day could be as beneficial to your mental wellbeing as going for a walk on an extra 8 days a month,.
