Hi Pausers,
Danielle is here to walk you through a simple pause technique which will help you to relax and focus on your breathing.
Pause with Upholding Heaven
Time: 10 minutes
Frequency: As often as you like.
Location: At home or at the office. This is particularly good done barefoot in a park or in the garden.
Preparation: Loosen any tight clothing or belts. Remove your shoes if possible.
Exercise:
To begin, stand with your feet comfortably apart keeping your arms at your sides. You will be keeping your eyes open during the entire exercise. Put your focus on your breath; inhale slowly by filling your belly with air, breathing in through your nose. As you breathe in raise your arms out to the sides and up above your head.
As your hands meet above your head, exhale and interlock your fingers with your palms facing down. Inhale. Now keep your fingers interlocked and rotate your hands so that your palms face the sky. Exhale. Look up at the back of your hands. Inhale and then if you can inhale a little more, stretching upward as if you are wanting to push your hands up towards heaven. Keep focusing on your breath. Exhale while you let your arms float down to your sides. Keep exhaling letting go of your tension. Relax your shoulders
Repeat this deep breathing exercise at least five more times. Focus on your breathing allowing your body to relax a little more each time you exhale.
