Stress at work
Workplace stress is a serious employment issue which every employer should be critically concerned about. So the Stress Management Society offers practical help to ease workplace stress.
Stress can affect anyone in a company - from the newest recruit in the post room to the board of directors.
In fact, it already does:
- Stress affects one in five of the working population.
- It is now the single biggest cause of sickness absence in the UK.
- over 105 million days are lost to stress each year– costing UK employers £1.24 billion.
The Stress Management Society’s goal is to help people tackle the stress in their lives. The quickest way to do that is through employers. That's why we offer our services to everyone but pay particular attention to the help we can give through companies.

We offer a range of support, including :
- risk assessment for your company

Consultancy
Use our consultancy service to access qualified therapists and management consultants who specialise in stress reduction work.
Training
Company-wide training is beneficial to all. It gives employees the stress management techniques they need in their day to day jobs and it assists manager to understand how to recognise and deal with stress symptoms in their colleagues and most importantly knowing how to react appropriately.
Telephone support
We offer a dedicated telephone support service for key individuals, or those who have been on our training courses.
All of this can be arranged from as little as £20 per employee per year.
On-site support
To make sure that your team stays stress-free, we can also arrange onsite visits from therapists, for example a monthly or quarterly visit from a qualified massage therapist to offer Indian head massage, or regular onsite yoga classes. Or choose from refresher courses, stress awareness days or once-a-month stress clinics to discuss ongoing issues in confidence.
