Who we are
The Stress Management Society is a non-profit making organization dedicated to helping
people tackle stress. We give a helping hand to those who could benefit from some good advice.
We combine our knowledge of stress and how to tackle it with an impartial view of stress
management products and services. We only recommend products or services that we know work.
Who we've worked with
The Society has become so successful that it is now recognized as one of the UK’s leading authorities on stress management issues. It is included in the NHS’s Mental Health Promotion sub-committee. It works with a broad range of companies and agencies too – from advising British Airways on how to reduce passenger stress (www.ba.com/wellbeing) to working with executives from organizations as diverse as Shell, the Home Office and The Football Association.
The Society is widely quoted as an authority on stress management issues, having appeared in media from Top Sante, Men’s Health, Glamour magazine, The Guardian, The Daily Mail, and Bride magazine to Channel Five news. We frequently appear on BBC and commercial radio being interviewed about stress management.
Our history
The Society was formed in 2003 by a number of healthcare professionals, management consultants and therapists - all experts in mental health, well-being and quality of life issues.
Their goal was to create a brand new type of accessible organization that offered impartial help and advice to everyone on stress management.
The professional counsellors involved in the organization are qualified to the highest degree. They are members of professional bodies from the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, General Hypnotherapy Register, Association of Neuro Linguistic Programming, and Association Thought Field Therapy.
